Beta Nu Upsilon has been moving and shaking all semester!

In September, we hosted the first-ever, ever meeting of the Masterminds at Pitt Community College in Greenville, North Carolina.  We spent the day reveling in the high energy of our fellow Carolinians!

In October, in addition to the usual induction celebration and our fall yard sale fundraiser, we also tried a new event called Punkin'Trunkin'.  It was a combination fundraiser, Regional Project, and carnival.  There was a Trunk or Treat section, and a pumpkin carving section, and a variety of games offered to the community.  We were very worried that no one would show up, but about 50 kids participated with their parents, all the pumpkins were carved, and the games entertained everyone.  And we made a hundred bucks!

In November, we completed our Honors in Action Project by offering similar games to our local Early College High School students during their lunch period.  Even some of their teachers participated!

Now, in December, we look forward to ... starting all over again!

Editor's Note: Beta Nu Upsilon provided the above article for publication in our December edition at which time we decided to move to our new platform. They were very gracious and patient as we made this transition and we appreciate them and their contribution to our newsletter. Thank you Beta Nu Upsilon for allowing us to hold your article for our blog launch! - Carol Boice Regional V.P. of P.R.
